Wells-next-the-Sea, North Norfolk
Wells-next-the-Sea
is a popular seaside town set behind a small quay on the beautiful North
Norfolk coast. The large unspoilt sandy beach is a 20 minute walk or
catch the narrow gauge steam railway. Brightly coloured beach huts
line part of the beach which is backed by pine woods. The beach has
a car park, tea rooms and good swimming. Wells-next-the-Sea has a maze
of narrow streets, many shops, pubs, restaurants (including the renowned ‘Crown’)
and amusements, and 'The Buttlands' is a centrally located green area surrounded
by fine Georgian houses. The quay area is busy with an active fishing
fleet, sailing club and children competing to see who can catch the most
crabs!
It is an ideal location for a holiday at any time of the year. The area is famed for bird watching and has many excellent walks. Wells-next-the-Sea is a designated Nature Reserve.
How to find Cobbles

When entering Wells-next-the-Sea (travelling west), on the A149 (Cromer to Hunstanton Rd.), take first right turn into Polka Road, Polka Place is the first entrance on the left, just opposite the Primary School. Alternatively, if approaching from Fakenham along the B1105, as you enter Wells take the first right turn (funeral directors on the corner) into Burnt Street. Travel past the fire station and St Nicholas Church, then take the left turn into Polka Road, Polka Place is the first entrance on the left. Cobbles (No.3 Polka Place) is the house facing the entrance to the development.
